The artist I chose was Mary Carr-Chaisson. Mary Carr-Chaisson's pinhole photography is about abstraction, distortion, uniqueness, and magnification. She takes her pictures from a worm's eye view. In her images, she likes the nostalgic feeling they evoke in the viewer. Mary Carr-Chaisson is native to Prince Edward Island. Some of the themes in her work include unpredictability, nostalgia, abstractness and uniqueness. Mary's favourite subject matter includes flowers, beaches, rocks, cliffs, old buildings and shells. She takes black and white pictures, processes the film, and creates the prints in her home darkroom by hand. She hand-colours black and whitepieces using Marshall's Oils.
